Kristie McNealy, MD is a small business owner who understands the hurdles that stand between people and their dream of owning their own business.
Kristie grew up in Michigan, where she spent most of her time at the ice rink as a competitive figure skater. After spending year touring North America with Disney on Ice, she returned to academics to get her bachelors degree from Ohio Wesleyan University.
In 2001, Kristie and her husband Rob McNealy moved to Colorado so she could attend medical school at the University of Colorado. She earned her MD in 2006, despite the preterm birth of her daughter. While staying home to manage her daughter’s medical needs, she started her first business, which was aimed at providing products and support to parents of critically ill newborns.
Moving on from that venture, Kristie began writing and editing medical content for the web, as well as continuing her advocacy for premature infants and family centered care through the March of Dimes and as a founding member of the National Alliance of Preemie Parents.
Kristie and Rob have made Aurora their home, along with their four children.
